A fantasy world in North Cyprus

Kemal Behcet Caymaz, the Turkish Cyp

riot author and illustrator of the fantasy series Sapphire (Safir), promoted his work at the 5th CNR International Book Fair in Istanbul, where he signed copies of his debut novel.

North Cyprus' very first fantasy author, Caymaz's Sapphire series are on TRNC's best-selling novels list. The first book in the series, Heralded Time (Müjdelenen Zaman), takes Prince Sapphire, the lead character, from the fallen kingdom in North Cyprus' popular St. Hilarion Castle to Notre Dame Cathedral in France.

While Russian, Spanish and Greek versions of the series are in the works to be published, the English version is said to be ready for release in 2019.
