Akdeniz Ayrelli Festival
A fun day was had by all at the 6th Akdeniz Ayrelli (wild asparagus) Festival. An area of unspoilt natural habitat and ecological wealth, Akdeniz has the highest rate of wild asparagus growth on the island and this weekend was a celebration of nature with dance, food and plenty of wild asparagus.
The various stands at the festival showcased handmade jewelry, wooden furniture items, fresh vegetables and fruit, and traditional Turkish and Turkish Cypriot delicacies including gozlemes, barbecues, cig kofte, boreks and much more, while the traditional dance shows and music kept the visitors entertained during this warm, sunny weekend.
